“Don’t lose focus y’all. We should not lose focus. Another black man’s death is at the surface of the forefront of the whole world. We have the power to change that today right now, 2020. We have the power to move forward, especially within this generation. Not just black, not just white, we got people of all ethnicities up here. So i’m a firm believer in my generation pushing that envelope forward to create change. Cuz black folks, we tired, we been tired. And i’m just thankful that creatives and artists such as ourselves can share our hurt and our pain and all of our emotions within this music right here. Thank you to all the black artists and creatives before us, Marvin Gaye, The Isley Brothers, James Brown, Nina Simone, Abbey Lincoln, Max Roach, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Michael Jackson. Those who have had a voice and stood up for what’s right. Let’s not loose focus y’all. Cuz we tired man.”
